For more than 10 years, Heartdancers have been running community art-based projects and events that bring together people from diverse cultural backgrounds to co-create positive experiences, express themselves, share stories and learn about each other, raise awareness about social issues, build skills, and celebrate diversity. They have delivered more than 160 art-based programs and events to over 2,000 people in Sydney, worked with more than 30 client and partner organisations, and provided employment and professional development opportunities to 80 cultural educators/artists of Aboriginal, CALD, and refugee backgrounds.
Program donations fund:
Rhythm is Life aims to increase social connectedness, promote cultural diversity, and improve the general wellbeing of older people living in Fairfield City and Cumberland, through weekly community dance classes. Over a period of 5 months, a total of 40 sessions will be offered in 2 different suburbs of Sydney (20 sessions each). Every 4 weeks a different country/culture will be explored through dance, music, rhythm and storytelling.
