Lou's Place is a daytime refuge for women based in Kings Cross. Lou's Place is open to all women, including transgender women and receives no government funding. Lou's Place provides a free breakfast and lunch, drop in services Monday to Friday, case management, emergency relief including financial assistance for women in crisis and both educational and therapeutic group work programs.
At any one time approximately 20% of Lou’s Place clients are rough sleepers and over 70% are homeless women. The remaining clients are typically from local Public Housing communities. All are financially disadvantaged.
Program donations fund:
Women: Choice and Change is a face-to-face groupbased program to work with women who have experienced domestic violence. They may be thinking of leaving a dangerous relationship or have already left. A safe space to learn, heal and change, to live in happier and healthier relationships. Donate and help support 72 women (aged 18+), from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, including many middle aged and older (50-60+) who have experienced domestic violence or have lived through toxic or unhealthy relationships.
