The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation

The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation is a small, dedicated team of nine who raise funds for The Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick. The Royal sees thousands of women every year for childbirth, who have premature babies, or who have breast cancer. It's a public hospital so The Foundation raises money for much-need equipment and services.

Program donations fund:

1.The Malabar Midwives service has been providing tailored care to Indigenous mothers and their families in South East Sydney for more than 16 years. They have enjoyed remarkable success building a rapport between Indigenous families wary of a large modern hospital and staff at The Royal. Their special care has resulted in a three fold number of Indigenous women having babies at The Royal. We are looking to support this dedicated and unsung team during this tumultuous time.

2. The COVID-19 pandemic has created an enormous amount of strain on women struggling with new motherhood at The Royal. The isolation, job losses, and lack of face-to-face medical appointments and mothers groups has created significant need for one-on-one care with our staff perinatal psychologist. We are very keen to build up our mental health service for these vulnerable women.
