About

Bonnie's provides support and accommodation to women and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and/or experiencing domestic violence. We are a very culturally diverse organisation, based in south-western Sydney - where we have been for over 45 years. We provide case management services, crisis and transitional accommodation, outreach support for women needing to escape domestic violence and a range of supportive group programs for women and also for children. We are a feminist service and place women at the centre of all we do.

We work closely with services such as Liverpool Women's Health Centre (where we have an office); Women's Legal Service, Oz Harvest, Rosebank Child Sexual Abuse Service, Habitat for Humanity, to name a few of our partners.
Many of our programs are arts based and this works well with people who have experienced trauma.

One of our successful groups is the Aunty Bonnie's cultural exchange program, run by Aboriginal women for First Nations' women. We also have our long-running Creative Space - a therapeutic arts based program and Kidz Space - working with children who have experienced trauma. Aboriginal women are a priority group for this service and we have seen an increase in referrals every year. The Hindi-Urdu speaking group provides fun and reduces isolation for this group.

Program donations fund:

The Khmer community has experienced long-term, intergenerational trauma and we hope to address that and their isolation by establishing a group for Cambodian women. Our Khmer worker has strong links to the community, and we would like to be able to support these women with a weekly group that meets to create connection and reduce isolation. These funds will be used to provide a group facilitator, provide resources, transport and room hire.
