Lokahi Foundation

About

The Lokahi Foundation is an Australian charity focused on supporting women and children who are or have been the victims of domestic or family abuse. We provide support to enable and empower women to reclaim their lives, achieve a secure environment and assist in progressing down a path which will materially improve their situation. We aim to provide victim-survivors of domestic and family abuse with on-the-ground specialised advice and support, including through ongoing case management, for as long as necessary. This helps these women to regain their independence and freedom - physically, emotionally, practically and financially.

Program donations fund:

We believe that support needs to have a financial focus to allow victim-survivors to achieve financial independence. This typically results in a reduced risk of continued abuse. Assistance in accessing support payments, finding stable housing, maintaining current employment arrangements, finding new employment or retraining, as appropriate, can help enormously in achieving this goal.

Raising $10,000 in this campaign means we can fund one of our caseworkers to work an extra day per week for approximately 6 months - that would make a huge difference to the Lokahi Foundation and to the women and children that need our support. It would enable us to support approximately 60 more women per year.
