Ukrainian Helping Hand Project

Be Kind Sydney Day

About

In June 2020, Sydney Community Foundation established the Ukrainian Helping Hand Project with funding from a major donor and in collaboration with local partners. The Project employs a specialist Welcome Team to support the needs of newly arrived Ukrainian women and children, focusing on accommodation, education and job support. The Welcome Team is itself formed of two women who fled Ukraine with their families back in March, and will soon grow to include a youth case worker.

Program donations fund:

The purpose of the Helping Hand Project is to advocate for, support and integrate displaced Ukrainians into the Sydney community and help them build capacity and resilience. 100% of donations to the Be Kind Sydney Helping Hand Project are directed towards assisting Ukrainians displaced by the war. Funds raised through this campaign will go directly into the cash assistance pot which is designed to support urgent needs within the displaced Ukrainian community living in Sydney.
